Dear Colleagues of Club Management,
The 7th National Golf Clubs General Managers Conference held in the gorges Lijiang, Yunnan, China in October 2006 marked as a magnificent event in China’s golf history. It brought us not only a great joy of gathering, but also an excellent chance to meet Mr. James Singerling, the CEO of Club Managers Association of America (CMAA). It was in this conference where Mr. Singling began to gain insight into China’s club development. The Chinese club managers impressed him as a fast growing community; they are passionate and dedicating to sound club development at an earlier stage in this country. Having been encouraged by the development potential of Chinese club industry, Mr. Singerling decides to introduce the education of CMAA to Chinese club managers. Through the training process, managers can broaden their knowledge and skills at international standard, hence contribute to world class club management in China and elsewhere in the world alongside with the objective of professional development as Certify Club Manger (CCM).
As such, under the initiatives of Mr. Jame Singerling with CMAA, and coupled with joint efforts made by Mr. Aylwin Tai, National Golf Clubs General Managers Conference and School of Tourism Management, SUN YAT-SEN University, China, we are jointly launching the first section of a 5-day China BMI course in October, 2007 at the 8th National Golf Clubs General Managers Conference. Acting as an educational institution among the three parties, the School of Tourism Management, Zhongshang University is cordially inviting you to register for the first intake of the China BMI course run by qualify professors from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Michigan State University.
As numbers for attending the courses are limited, registers for the 1st intake must meet the following requirements:
1. Minimum 3 year working experience with club management (please provide the relevant references – golf club, country club, tennis club, health club, social club, residence club…etc). 2. Staff of club management on marketing, sales, hospitality and operation. 3. Professors and senior academics involved with education of club management.
The standards of course design, teaching and tuition fee are similar to CMAA - BMI courses run in America. Besides, RMB 2,000 fee are deducted for the managers with Chinese Citizen ID. Upon completion of the course, 33 BMI credits will be awarded to the course intake whose status will be then recognized by Club Managers Association of America. Furthermore, all courses are delivered in English with simultaneous Chinese translation service provided (for the first intake courses only). We plan to schedule 2 BMI courses per year and will try to help our qualify managers to become Certify Club Manager (CCM) by year of 2010.
